Jack Sinnott bout report from Cheshunt ABC show (08/12/11)
Posted: 13th December 2011 by Reggie Hagland in Club ResultsOn Thursday 8.12.11, IBC Junior 12yr old JACK SINNOTT (39kg) boxed on a Cheshunt ABC show which was held at the club HQ. His opponent was FRANCIE O’DONNELL from the host club in what was a fast-paced, sometimes untidy bout as the Islington boxer was cautioned by the referee on several occasions for going too low with his head.
In the first round O’DONNELL took the initiative and put SINNOTT on the back foot and under pressure from the start. JACK weathered the storm and fired back with some neat work of his own but it was evident that the greater workrate was coming from O’DONNELL.
In round 2 FRANCIE kept the pressure on to stay in command, though JACK responded with some intermittent combinations, it was not enough to deter O’DONNELL. When JACK was put under pressure, he kept ducking too low, which prompted the referee to intervene and caution him a few times.
Round 3 began with an immediate charge from SINNOTT as he finally came to life and peppered FRANCIE with decent shots from all angles, working head and body cleverly. Alas, the assault from JACK was not sustained long enough to turn the tables and O’DONNELL was granted a majority points win
